WHY is the Wood MEAN?
COMMON is synonymous with ORDINARY - synonymous with ordinary, native wood that grows here.
For me, COMMON also means
gnarled, unruly, knotty, resinous, rotten or rock-hard.
I mostly work with common fallen wood of any condition. Sometimes the wood isn't just ordinary, but downright nasty.
I don't need much material for my work. I can usually find it in sufficient quantity and great variety in Stuttgart and the surrounding area.
As a botanist who has been active in evolutionary research for a long time, I place great value on diversity and sustainability.
Carving started as an intense hobby. Now I enjoy being able to pursue it as my main profession every day.
My main means of transport and transportation is the e-cargo bike. This allows me to collect wood wherever it's available and also to personally deliver orders from the region.
